Printing questions

What does 300 DPI mean for my image?

300 DPI places 300 image pixels in each printed inch. A 10 × 15 cm print needs about 1181 × 1772 pixels at 300 DPI. PrintReady calculates these dimensions and writes density metadata into exported JPG and PNG files.

Which export format should I choose?

JPG suits photographs, PNG suits illustrations and sharp edges, and PDF keeps an exact physical page size. The selected background fills any space around the image.

How do I keep the exact size when printing?

For PDF, select actual size or 100% in the print dialog. Disable automatic fit-to-page scaling. For JPG and PNG, confirm the physical dimensions in your printing software.

Where is my image processed?

Image decoding, framing and export run locally in your browser. Your selected image is not uploaded to Cobalt Tools.
